Graveyard Video Project Analysis

  Our current project, in celebration of Halloween, is to create a short video that is based around using multiple different aspects that we have learned over the semester, as well as new material, like creating effects in a 3-D space, as well as maneuvering objects in a 3-D plane. Using After Effects from Adobe has been a fun and challenging experience. I sometimes find myself amazed at what is possible with this technology. I sometimes also find myself lost and forgetting what to do to simply animate a sequence of events together when all I have to do is move them while adding points on the timeline as to when I moved the object(s).  My graveyard project is using a ghost as the main character, while also utilizing the zoom and focus features in A.E. 1980’s MTV History: Bohemian Rhapsody: The song that started it all

   Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody is such a distinguishable song that stands out in the minds of music lovers and critics. The lyrical styling of Freddie Mercury, the rhythm and tempo changes, and of course, the story that is involved with the song. What if I were to tell you that THIS iconic song started the notion of MTV being a real idea because of the creative nature of it's video and the effect it gave to the song? Semiotics: Understanding Mythology or Ideology…for which job?

   The media studies course I am taking here at Shepherd University has and is teaching a multitude of many fascinating and multi-faceted ways of thinking and ideas that can carry over into the future. I, however, not entirely certain as to what I would like to do after I graduate from Shepherd; So, I am becoming a versatile and omnipotent individual that can be able to accomplish many tasks for one company's needs. I am a curious and very intrigued person and have a lot of interests in the Communication and New Media department. I have already taken a studio production course and am currently taking a music video course, a media studies course (previously mentioned), a Computer-Mediated Studies course, and a special effects course.
