My name is James P. Kelley. I am a Bachelor of Science in Communications and New Media major with a concentration in Media Studies from Shepherd University. This particular major interested me because of my various loves and interests in music, music videos, motion graphics, gaming, and social media. I couldn’t decide as to what I wanted to specifically do as a career, so I figured to become as well versed in as many different things as possible. Too many interests, too little time.

I wasn’t always a Communications major. I entered Shepherd as a BA of History, but realized I could get more out of my goals and aspirations if I switched majors. Communications was my minor, so I just flip-flopped the two areas of study. I still enjoy history, but I can use it more to an advantage as my minor to be able to work with companies in many more facets and skills.

Along with my major classes at Shepherd, I marched in the Ram Band across the Mid-Atlantic. The Ram Band had the opportunity in 2015 to travel to Kansas City, Kansas to cheer on and support the Rams football team to its first ever visit to the Division-II National Championship game.

I currently work at WHAG as a studio production assistant. WHAG is a news station based out of Hagerstown, Maryland. I interned there over the summer of 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of interning. I am excited to see where my future takes me as an actual member of the team at WHAG.

Aside from work, I take part in numerous blood-drives, paint, and other various activities which promote personal growth, continually learning, and overall, just being creative.
